Alumni Rugby Football
A few good Bonas men are serving their country in Iraq. Over the winter CPT Chris Wood (SBU 2000, '02) sent a note asking for rugby balls and shirts and shorts (and stuff.), as he and his mates were starting up a rugby team. A bunch of great Americans sent Woody a bunch of gear. In exchange, Chris sent us some pictures.
In addition to Chris, MAJ Dennis Flynn (SBU 1984) is also in Baghdad. There are more folks out there, so let us know about them.
Here's an essay from Flynn.
Here's a video from Woody. It's really dumb, typical rugby stuff.
Sorry if I've gotten anything wrong. Please send photos and updates to me here.
God Speed, gentlemen.

On the left is the "best lawn in Baghdad," along the banks of the Tigris. Above are the fellows doing their day (or night) job. Center left is the regular field after an irregular rain. Keep up the fire, fellows! |
